Jaipur : Drinking water problem is the most important issue in Rajasthan. The water supply department is continuously trying to solve the problem of drinking water. However, many illegal activities are taking place regarding water, due to this also people have to face a lot of problems. Because drinking water is stolen. In such a situation, the Water Supply Department (PHED) is now preparing to crack down on those taking illegal water connections. For this, preparations have been made by the water supply department to take action. Besides, strict action will also be taken against the officers. The water supply department has now prepared to launch a campaign against those who have illegal water connections. PHED Chief Government Secretary Bhaskar A Sawant has said that a campaign will be launched from October 5 to identify illegal connections and take action against those making illegal water connections. He said that it should be ensured that effective action is taken during the campaign and regularization of water connections of consumers making illegal water connections should also be done.
Complaint of illegal connection and water theft
Principal Government Secretary Sawant said that complaints of water theft and illegal connections are being received continuously. Thousands of illegal water connections have been identified in many cities, and the action taken to remove illegal connections has reduced significantly. He gave clear instructions that all illegal connections to the rising main line and distribution line should be identified before the campaign. He said that PDP will take action against the illegal connection holder. FIR should also be lodged under the Act.
Action will also be taken against officials
The Chief Government Secretary said that the pending drinking water connections in Jaipur city should be resolved soon and effective monitoring should be done at the executive engineer level. He said that if there is negligence by officers and personnel at any level, strict action will be taken against them. He directed for effective monitoring of the work at every level after online application for new water connection till the connection is made. While reviewing Jal Jeevan Mission, he gave instructions to increase the speed of FHTC. He said that the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission should be reviewed daily at the field level.
