One accused sentenced to life imprisonment in Hanumangarh rape case

Hanumangarh : Local Additional Sessions Judge Omprakash Nayak, while hearing a murder case on Wednesday, punished five people with life imprisonment and fine.

According to the case, on April 29, 2017, during treatment at Chhanibari Hospital, complainant Prithvi Singh told in a written statement that at 6 in the morning he and his father Fateh Singh went to the fields to do farming work. When he and his father were doing farming work in their field at around 9 o’clock, suddenly Inderpal son of Mahendra, Rajesh son of Ramniwas, Subhash son of Devi Lal, Sunny Beniwal and two others, whose names he does not know. In this, three persons came riding on a tractor and three came to his farm on a bike. Without saying anything, they put the tractor behind him, then beat him and his father with punches and jelly. On this both of them became unconscious. From his mobile, he told his son Rakesh’s mobile that he was beaten up by Inderpal etc., then Rakesh brought a vehicle from the village and got him and his father admitted to the government hospital Chhanibari. First information report was registered in police station Bhirani.

Fateh Singh’s son Tikuram died due to serious injuries in the incident. After investigation, sections 302, 307, 325, 341, 323, 147, 148, 149 of IPC were registered against accused Inderpal, Rajesh Kumar, Subhashchandra, Shanipal alias Shania, Balwan Singh and Jaipal alias Goriya. The charge sheet was presented. Due to the death of one of the accused, the proceedings against him were dropped.

Additional Sessions Judge Omprakash Nayak, while hearing the case on Wednesday, accused Inderpal, son of late. Mahendra Singh, Rajesh Kumar son of Ramniwas, Subhashchandra son of Devi Lal resident of Bhairuchhani, Balwan Singh son of Harisingh resident of Ward 16 Chhanibari, Jaipal alias Goriya son of Mangeram resident of Ward 17 Chhanibari, Police Station Bhirani as guilty under Section 147 IPC. One year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 500, Section 148 IPC. Two years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 1,000, 341 IPC. One month simple imprisonment and fine of Rs 500, Section 302 IPC. Life imprisonment and fine of Rs 5,000, Section 325 IPC. Three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000, Section 323 IPC. Was punished with one year simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500. The victim’s side was represented by senior advocate Chhabilaram Mund and additional public prosecutor Vikram Sharma.
