Placer India plays an important role in the public participation efforts of ‘Make in India’: Ashwini Vaishnav

Vadodara, 30 November (IANS). Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in Vadodara on Saturday that in the year 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge of the country and immediately started a huge movement of ‘Make in India’.

The Railway Minister said that Placer India plays an important role in this ‘Make in India’ public participation effort. He said this to the media after inspecting the factory of Placer India established in Curzon in Vadodara district in the year 2019. Track slabs for bullet trains are being made in this factory.

The Indian unit of Austrian company Placer is manufacturing the world’s most complex track maintenance machines. Its largest plant is currently in India, and machines are exported to countries like Australia, Nigeria and Argentina.

This plant is also connected to Gati Shakti University, where courses in manufacturing, design and testing of these machines will be conducted, which will benefit the youth in getting new opportunities in the country and abroad.
