PM Modi congratulates D Gukesh on becoming the youngest world chess champion

New Delhi, December 12 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated D Gukesh on social media platforms on becoming the youngest world chess champion. He described his achievement as historic and exemplary.

Responding to a post made by the International Chess Federation handle on Twitter, PM Modi said, “Historic and exemplary!”

PM Modi said, “Congratulations to Gukesh D for his remarkable achievement. This is the result of his unique talent, hard work and unwavering determination. His victory has not only etched his name in chess history but has also inspired millions of young minds to dream big and achieve excellence. My best wishes for his future endeavours.

On this achievement of D Gukesh, President Draupadi Murmu wrote on social media platform X, “Hearty congratulations to D Gukesh on becoming the youngest player to win the World Chess Championship. He has made India very proud. Their victory seals India’s authority as a chess superpower. Well done Gukesh! On behalf of every Indian, I wish that you continue to make you proud in the future also.”

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated D Gukesh and wrote on social media platform X, “My heartiest congratulations to D Gukesh. To win the prestigious World Chess Championship title and become the youngest world champion in the history of chess. Your hard work and dedication have made the entire country proud.
