Bundi : Bundi’s Keshoraipatan and Sadar police station, in a joint action, have seized a container carrying illegal liquor. 272 boxes of different brands of English liquor have been recovered from the container. Police have arrested the driver. Liquor was being taken from Punjab to Gujarat. Keshoraipatan SHO Devesh Bhardwaj said that on Thursday night, on the instructions of higher officials, Sadar police station in-charge Bhagwan Sahay was checking vehicles during patrolling. Meanwhile, when the container going from Kapren towards Kota was stopped at the Sugar Mill intersection and interrogated, the driver told that the container was empty. When the police got suspicious, they checked and found that the container was filled with English liquor manufactured in Punjab.
When the police inquired about the liquor, it was found that the liquor was being taken from Punjab to Gujarat. Police have recovered different brands of English liquor from the container. The price of liquor is around Rs 35 lakh. Police seized the container with liquor and arrested the driver of the vehicle, Suresh Aud, son of Gema Aud, resident of Deshantri Ka Bas, District Jalore. The police is interrogating the accused about being the owner of illicit liquor.
