Protest by Sahu Community Demands Compensation and Job After Womans Death

Udaipur, October 7: The death of a woman in the Teetaradi area after being hit by a truck has sparked significant outrage among her family and the Sahu community. On Tuesday, a large group of community members gathered at the district collectorate, demanding a compensation of ₹50 lakh and a government job for a family member of the deceased.

Earlier, on Monday, family members and community supporters had also protested outside the mortuary of Maharana Pratap Hospital. The protesters presented their demands to the administration, prompting police presence in the hospital area to maintain order. Despite attempts by officials to negotiate, the protesters remained firm on their demands.

During their visit to the collectorate on Tuesday, community members reiterated their call for financial assistance and employment for the deceased’s family. They warned that if their demands for ₹50 lakh in compensation and a government job for a family member are not met, they would escalate their protests.

The incident occurred when the woman, riding a scooter, was struck by the truck on Monday, resulting in her immediate death. Following the accident, an angry crowd gathered at the scene and set the truck on fire. Police and administrative teams arrived to control the situation, and after negotiations, the body was taken to the mortuary at Maharana Pratap Hospital.

Currently, the family of the deceased and the Sahu community continue their protests, while the administration is attempting to engage in dialogue to resolve the situation.
