Protest continues against demolition of Sikar Nawalgarh bridge construction

Sikar News Desk: The protest continued for the fifth day on Sunday in protest against the demolition of construction work regarding Nawalgarh Pulia Project. Meanwhile, the affected people have formed the Compensation and Rehabilitation Struggle Committee. This includes landlords, shopkeepers and street vendors. According to the struggle committee, it has been decided to continue the struggle until proper compensation and rehabilitation arrangements are made for the deported families, shopkeepers and hand cart vendors.

Committee members said that they will meet the Collector on Monday and submit a memorandum against the demolition of leased houses and shops. A civil writ petition has been filed in the Rajasthan High Court in the matter. Meanwhile, the Sangharsh Committee has claimed that the strike has been supported by many organizations including Sikar Vyapar Mahasangh, Uday Seva Sansthan, Kisan Union, Sanatan Sansthan, Health and Happiness Foundation. Here, the people setting up thadi under the culvert have alleged that the city council did not provide them space. Due to this, many families are facing livelihood crisis. They should be provided space to set up their carts.
