Mumbai, November 26 (IANS). Producer Raj Shandilya talked about the remake of ‘Fauja’ based on the world’s oldest marathon runner Fauja Singh. He said that this is a story that transcends regional boundaries and he is proud to bring this film to Hindi cinema.
Producers of ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, Raj Shandilya and Vimal Lahoti have teamed up for the Hindi remake of the National Award winning film ‘Fauja’. Raj and Vimal have acquired the remake rights. This big project of Raj Shandilya will be produced under his banner Kathavachak Films.
Talking about the film, Shaandilyaa said, “Fauja is a story that transcends language and regional boundaries. I am proud to bring Fauja to Hindi cinema. ‘Fauja’ is truly a story of extraordinary courage and emotion. , which is worthy of being experienced by the audience across the country. My aim is also to make a film which will be liked by everyone including the Hindi speaking audience.”
Producer Vimal Lahoti expressed his excitement about the project and said, “’Fauja’ is an important step towards bringing excellent regional cinema to a wider audience. Regarding the cast of ‘Fauja’ remake, the producer said that information regarding it will be revealed soon.
Based on Khushwant Singh’s book ‘Turbaned Tornado The Oldest Marathon Runner Fauja’, the film will bring on screen the extraordinary journey of the 108-year-old athlete. He is also known as ‘Sikh Superman’. Fauja Singh has gained worldwide recognition by breaking several records in different age groups in marathon running.
