It is a matter of relief for Jaipur Metro that the Central Government has given approval for the operation and maintenance of the Metro for the first phase. Recently, the Central Government has issued in-principle approval for the joint venture. According to Metro officials, getting the support of the Centre will make it easier to get a loan. The Centre has already issued in-principle approval for the second phase. It is believed that a company will be formed for joint partnership. Actually, after the formation of the new government in the state, the officials of the Urban Development Department were making efforts for this.

After getting the support of the central government, the upcoming project will benefit. The central government will give 20 percent and the state government will give the same amount. The company will take a loan for the remaining 60 percent. Earlier, the state government was spending the money and the state government had to make efforts for the loan as well. In the second phase DPR, the cost of the project was stated to be Rs 4600 crore. Now the work of upgrading it will be done. It is believed that now this cost will be around Rs 5800 crore.
Passenger load will increase with expansion
The passenger load will increase after the completion of both phases of Phase-1. At the same time, the work of Phase-2 is also expected to start this year.
Apart from this, possibilities are being explored in other areas including New Sanganer Road.
