Jaipur : Jaipur Saras Dairy may soon hike its milk prices. Jaipur Dairy’s chairman Om Prakash Poonia hinted at this during a programme today. Poonia said that during the elections, Amul, Mother Dairy Committee and other competing dairies also hiked their milk prices, so now we also need to hike the milk price a little so that the market can be balanced and farmers can benefit. He hinted that increasing the milk price by 1 to 2 rupees will not have any special effect on the common man.
Addressing the launch ceremony of buttermilk-ice cream today, Poonia said that we are demanding the government to increase the purchase price of milk. He said that today other companies are purchasing milk from farmers at the rate of 8.5 rupees per fat, while we are purchasing it at the rate of 8 rupees. I believe that we should purchase milk at the rate of 12 rupees per fat.
Prices were increased in January 2023
During the Gehlot government, the prices in Jaipur Dairy were last increased in January 2023. Since then there has been no increase in the price of milk. However, when the prices were increased in March, it was withdrawn due to political opposition.
Currently these are the prices
At present, Saras Toned (blue) is available at Jaipur Dairy at Rs 50 per liter, Standard (green) at Rs 56, Gold at Rs 64 and DTM at Rs 42 per liter. If the prices are increased by Jaipur Dairy, then all these prices can increase by up to Rs 2.
