Shri Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav celebrated on Mokshada Ekadashi in Sriganganagar

Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav was celebrated at Shri Radha Krishna Temple located in Shri Gaushala of Sri Ganganagar : Suratgarh. A collective recitation of Srimad Bhagavad Geeta was also done in the presence of Shukdev Maharaj. The chief priest of the temple, Pt. Ratanlal Upadhyay along with Pt. Uttam Sharma and Mohit Swami started the program by offering prayers and chanting mantras. After this, Rekha Saraogi, Rekha Goyal, Sonia Bansal, Sani Gupta, Kamlesh Leela did a collective recitation of Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta.

On this occasion, Shukdev Maharaj said that today the sound of this great book is being heard in foreign countries also. The youth should be made to read Gita to educate them about religion and duty. He told that it was on Mokshada Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha that Lord Shri Krishna had preached Geeta to Arjun during the war of Mahabharata. Since then, the festival of Geeta Jayanti is celebrated every year on Mokshada Ekadashi. The things written in Geeta are dialogues between Shri Krishna and Arjun. This is the only book which originated from the mouth of Shri Krishna himself. Also, this is the only best religious book in the world, whose birth anniversary is celebrated. Reciting Geeta on Mokshada Ekadashi provides relief from all troubles and brings happiness and prosperity in the house. On Geeta Jayanti, the worship of Lord Krishna, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, has special significance.
