Some people are trying to provoke BPSC candidates: Minister Ashok Chaudhary

Patna, 6 December (IANS). Candidates of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination in Patna, the capital of Bihar, demonstrated in front of the commission’s office on Friday in protest against normalization. The police fiercely lathicharged the candidates. The candidates demand that normalization should not be implemented under any circumstances. At the same time, the statement of Minister Ashok Chaudhary has come out in this regard.

Speaking to IANS, Bihar government minister Ashok Chaudhary said, “The secretary has clearly said that we have not implemented normalization. When we did not implement it, there was no question of taking it back. We have not talked to anyone about this. We got this information through the newspaper.

He said that some people, especially politicians, are trying to provoke these people. After provoking them, punitive action is being taken against them. These are the same leaders who are giving comfortable statements later. They are misleading the poor students. It is completely wrong to make statements on something that has not happened.

The protesting candidates also blocked Bailey Road in the city, after which the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the protesting candidates and restore order.

Candidates have gathered in large numbers demanding ‘one shift, one paper’ for BPSC exam. The protesting candidates are demanding that the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination be conducted on the same lines as previous years. They are also demanding to normalize the examination process. They are demanding that the Commission adopt the same examination process which has been followed for fairness and uniformity.

Regarding the demonstration, DSP Anu Kumari said that this demonstration is illegal as the students do not have any permission for it. We are seeking names of a delegation of five people who will talk to the Commission on their demands.

Meanwhile, BPSC Secretary Satya Prakash Sharma said that the Commission will not release the results through the normalization method. Rumors are being spread to tarnish the image of the Commission.
