Sriganganagar rape convict sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and fined Rs 90,000

Sriganganagar : Special Court for Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO Act) cases (No. 02) accused of sexually exploiting a teenage girl working at a beauty parlor and making her pregnant for 5 months on the pretext of marriage, on Thursday 20 Sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 90 thousand. According to the decision of the court, for not paying the fine in the case, the culprit Sukhwinder Singh alias Ravi Mann, resident of Chak 13-H Thadda, will have to face additional rigorous imprisonment of 6 months.

According to the facts of the complaint, the victim’s father had filed a case at Kesrisinghpur police station on 16 August 2022. It was told that the complainant’s daughter used to go to work in a beauty parlor and she went to work on the morning of 15th August but did not reach the beauty parlor. she disappeared.

The police registered a case of kidnapping against unknown persons and started investigation. During investigation, after 5-6 months the girl was found in Boranada town of Jodhpur district. After recording the statement of the victim, it was revealed that she had been seduced by Sukhwinder Singh alias Ravi Mann, resident of Chak 13-H Thadda of Kesrisinghpur police station area. It was Sukhwinder Singh who had called the girl to himself in Mohali. On which she came to Sriganganagar on 15th August. On reaching Patiala from here, Sukhwinder Singh met him. Sukhwinder Singh took him to Bornada Jodhpur on 17 August. Kept in a rented house there. He kept exploiting her physically by promising her marriage and threatening her. He kept the girl with him for about 5 months. During this time she became pregnant.
