Ajmer : The Supreme Court, after completing the hearing in the case of NEET UG exam, has clearly stated in its order that the NEET exam will not be conducted again. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra rejected the demand for re-conducting the NEET exam. Along with this, he also said that it is difficult to reach the conclusion that the sanctity of the exam was violated. The Supreme Court bench said that the court feels that the consequences of directing a fresh UG NEET for this year will be serious and it will also cause disruption in the admission program.
The court said that this would not only have a huge impact on the curriculum of medical education, but would also affect the availability of qualified medical professionals in future. Along with this, it would be seriously detrimental for the disadvantaged group for whom reservation was made in the allocation of seats. The Supreme Court said that at the present stage there is no such material on record from which it can be concluded that there was manipulation in the result of the examination or there was a systematic violation of the sanctity of the examination.
The Supreme Court said that no such material was found which shows that the sanctity of the entire examination has been affected. Justice DY Chandrachud said that those who have taken advantage of the irregularities can be identified separately from the clean candidates, and if any irregularities are found later, their admission can be cancelled. The NEET examination was held on 5 May. The result of the examination was first declared on 4 June, but there were allegations of alleged rigging in this examination and the matter went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court then ordered NEET to declare the results along with the names of cities and centers. On the orders of the Supreme Court, the center-wise results were uploaded on the NTA website on 20 July.
