New Delhi, May 8: Suvendu Adhikari has been announced as the new Chief Minister of West Bengal. He has been elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party. Following this announcement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Adhikari on his selection as the next Chief Minister.

In a post on the social media platform X, Amit Shah wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Suvendu Adhikari on being elected as the leader of the BJP legislature party.”

He further stated, “The people of Bengal have given a strong mandate against fear, infiltration, corruption, and appeasement, providing the Bharatiya Janata Party with an opportunity to serve. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the BJP government in Bengal will write a new chapter of development, security, and prosperity in the state.”

Earlier, BJP National President Nitin Naveen also congratulated Adhikari, expressing confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Adhikari’s strong leadership, West Bengal will swiftly move towards the vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’ and establish a new identity of good governance and development.

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah mentioned that the election process had recently concluded, and all eight proposals and support received pointed to one name. He declared, “I announce Suvendu Adhikari as the elected leader of the West Bengal legislative assembly party.”

According to reports, Adhikari will take the oath of office as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal on May 9 at the historic Brigade Parade Ground during the Rabindra Jayanti celebrations.
