The clan of tigers will increase in Kota’s Mukundara, two tigresses will be brought.

Kota : Kota Tiger clan will increase in Mukandra Hills Tiger Reserve. For this, 1 tigress each from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and 1 tigress from Abheda Biological Park in Kota will be brought here. Its permission has been given by the National Tiger Reserve Authority (NTCA). Mukandra Tiger Reserve’s DFO Muthu S said that permission has been received from Abheda Biological Park to release two cubs into the forest. Of these, the female cub will be released in Mukandra Tiger Reserve and the male cub will be released in Ramgarh Tiger Reserve of Bundi. The National Tiger Reserve Authority (NTCA) has also given permission to bring two tigers from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Let us tell you that there are only two tigers in Mukandra. These include MT5 Tiger and MT6 Tigress. Their numbers will increase with the arrival of new tigers. Tourists coming here will be able to see the tiger. The roar of tigers will echo in Mukandra.

Cubs imprisoned in Abheda Park for 22 months will get a new home

Both the cubs captured in Abheda Biological Park were born in Ranthambore Reserve in November 2022. After the death of tigress T 114, both were brought to Kota Abheda Biological Park on 1 February 2023. At that time the cubs were two and a half months old. Forest workers took care of them in the park. Now these young people have become tigers and tigresses. In this, the weight of the male became 170 kg and that of the female became 130 kg. There was a demand by wildlife lovers for a long time to release them in the forest. Both the cubs had received permission from NTCA to release them. But the permission of the Government of India was awaited. On Tuesday, the Wildlife Division of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India issued its orders. Both cubs will be fitted with radio collars before release. Necessary precautions will also be taken.

Permission granted on these conditions

-The work of radio collaring and releasing will be done strictly under the supervision of the state forest department.

-Proper precautions should also be taken to avoid complications after catching and releasing.

-The tiger cubs suffered minimal damage during this entire operation. Regular monitoring during and after radio collaring and releasing will be done by the Chief Wildlife Ward and State Forest Department. Quarterly reports will be sent by the Warden to the Ministry.

-Entire rules and regulations of NTCA will be followed. The ministry can cancel its permission if the safety of the tiger cubs is endangered.

-Muthu S, DFO of Mukandra Tiger Reserve, said that two days ago, permission was received from the Central Government to release two cubs into the forest from Abheda Biological Park.

-Among these, the female will be released in Mukandra and the male will be released in Ramgarh. Apart from this, permission has been received from NTCA to bring two tigresses to Mukandra Hills Tiger Reserve. However, the date has not been decided yet.
