KDA broke the umbrella and the dispute started again
Last month, on September 21, the Kota Development Authority had demolished the 500-year-old statue and umbrella of former king Surajmal Hada for the airport in the limits of Bundi district. After which the anger of Rajput society erupted. KDA allotted a new place the same evening. But the society was adamant to build the idol and umbrella at the original place. Regarding this demand, many public representatives including Union Minister Gajendra Singh, MLA Rao Rajendra Singh, Minister Otram Devasi, MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati, former Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore, MLA Kalpana Devi also wrote letters to the Central and State Governments. Considering the attitude of the society, KDA has also canceled the proposed bhoomi pujan program of the memorial at the new place.
