Jodhpur : The government has stopped the tradition of giving return gifts in exchange of donations in blood donation camps. The tradition of distributing expensive gifts in the blind race to increase the number of donors and make records in the camps had started in the last few years. Now this order has been issued by the Commissionerate of Food Safety and Drug Control.
the government said this
In the order issued by the Drug Controller, it has been said that these days it is being seen that in blood donation camps, blood centers along with their organizers have started the tradition of giving many types of gifts. In blood donation camps, helmets, blankets, campers and other types of temptations are given to lure donors. Which is against the rules of blood donors and is also against the law. In future, if return gifts are given in blood donation camps, then the recognition of the blood center will be canceled.
In the January 8 issue, this system was exposed to the government and it was told how it becomes difficult to find donors without reward. This tradition of return gifts also led to corruption which was also exposed by the magazine. In fact, since the tradition of getting return gifts in blood donation camps started, many organizations started making records in the camps. 500 to 1000 units of blood started being collected in a day. Whereas Jodhpur city does not need so much blood in a day, instead small camps can be organized continuously. Blood banks were also called from outside Jodhpur in the blood donation camps and this donated blood was sold to them.
