Jhalana Leopard Safari is a leopard conservation park built in the forests of Jhalana located in the middle of Jaipur, where safari was started for tourists in the year 2018. Situated in the foothills of the Aravalli mountain range, Jhalana Safari Park is a primitive forest in itself, which connects it to Sariska National Park via the forests of Galta Valley and the forests of Ramgarh Dam. Jhalana Park, located in Malviya Nagar area, one of the most developed zones of Jaipur city, is located just a few kilometers from Jaipur Airport and Gandhi Nagar Railway Station. This forest area located in the Jhalana area of Jaipur was used for hunting by the Jaipur royal family as a private estate till eighteen hundred and sixty. One of the biggest attractions of Jhalana Leopard Reserve is Shikar Hodi located here, which is a three-storey hunting ground. It was used by the royal families of Jaipur during hunting. The leopards of Jhalana Leopard Safari located in the forest of Jhalana are known for their unique names, which are named by the person who spots them. There is definitely some special reason hidden behind the names of all the leopards living here. For example, a female leopard here has been named Aarti due to being seen around the temple during Aarti every day. Similarly, a leopard here has been named Rana due to being more aggressive and imposing. At the same time, a leopard here has been named Bigfoot due to its paw being larger than other leopards.
Apart from this, a female leopard living in the mining area of Jhalana forest has been named Mrs. Khan. Similarly, a leopard from here has been named Flora Machli for giving birth to the maximum number of cubs like the biggest tiger fish of Ranthambore. A leopard here has a nose ring-like mark on its nose, so it was named Nathwali. A pair of male and female leopards always live together in the forests of Jhalana, due to which they have been named Romeo Juliet. Apart from all this, a leopard famous for its bravery among wildlife lovers and photographers has been named Bahadur.
Apart from leopards, you can spot striped hyenas, Indian civets, desert cats, jungle cats, desert foxes, jackals, porcupines, wild rats, monitor lizards, mongooses, sambar deer, spotted deer, nilgai and numerous species of snakes. Apart from this, there are many bird species present in the park, which makes it a paradise for bird watchers.
The Jhalana forest is a dry deciduous forest, which resembles the sloping valleys and sharp cliffs of the Aravalli Hills. Plants like Juliflora and Khejri, which grow in dry conditions, are found in abundance in the forest. Apart from this, many other local plants are found here, which include Dhak, Salar, Dhonk and Kumta. The biodiversity of this area also contributes to making it a suitable home for leopards.
Jhalana Leopard Reserve is open throughout the year unlike many other wildlife sanctuaries in India, Jhalana is also open during the monsoon season. However, November to April is considered the best time to visit here. Jhalana Safari Park is open for tourists from 5:45 am to 8:15 am and 4:45 pm to 7:15 pm in summer and from 6:15 am to 8:45 am and 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm in winter. For safari in Jhalana, you will get a gypsy from the main gate of the park, in which a maximum of 6 people can enjoy the safari. You will have to pay a fee of about 4500 rupees for the gypsy.

The nearest airport to reach here by flight is Sanganer Airport at a distance of 5 km. The nearest railway station to reach here by train is Jaipur Junction located at a distance of 10 km.
