Jaipur : On Thursday, after many years, the Kanota Dam near the capital started flowing again. This is the second time in 24 years since the dam was built. Due to heavy rains on Wednesday, about 6 inches of water came into the dam, which continued till Thursday and the water started flowing on the dam. According to the Irrigation Department, the filling capacity of the dam is 17 feet. Till Tuesday, the water limit in the dam was about 16 feet 5 inches. Along with this, the water started flowing on Shiv Ki Dungri, Chandlai, Gularbandh, Ramchandrapura Dam of Jaipur rural area on Thursday. Rain started again at 5 pm on Thursday in Chandwaji area. There was torrential rain for about two hours. After heavy rains in Jaipur, due to the increase in the water level in the Dhundh River, both the roads connecting Gram Panchayat Sambharia of Bassi subdivision area to Shivdaspura were closed. There was a queue of vehicles on both sides. Due to the fast flow, people living in the lower part around the river area faced a lot of trouble.
The ritual of covering the river with a chunari was performed
A person riding a bike fell on the culvert on the Bara-Padampura road due to the strong current of the river, who was saved by the youth. Meanwhile, a jeep overturned due to the flow of water in the drain at Manpura Machedi. Stones fell from the hill in Pilva valley of Chandwaji, closing the road. Due to the closure of the road, movement of six villages stopped. When water came in the Bandi river after eight years due to heavy rains, the residents of the surrounding villages including Bansa Kushalpura, Rajawas expressed their happiness and performed the ritual of covering the river with a chunari.
