‘Transfer at night, join in the morning, transfer again at night’ Why is the government making such a big demand from RAS officers immediately after transferring them at night?

Jaipur : On Monday, Bhajan Lal government of Rajasthan transferred 83 RAS officers. This list has come after the transfer of IAS – IPS a day earlier. But there is a special thing about this list. Along with the transfer order, the officers have also been told to take up their new responsibility with immediate effect. Probably this is the first time that this order has been given with the transfer list. The order states that Dataram, RAS Joint Administrative Secretary General Department Jaipur, along with the work of his post, will also perform the additional charge of the post of Deputy Chief Protocol Officer, General Administration Department and Controller, Circuit House and Controller and Ex-officio Joint Secretary, State Motor Garage Department Jaipur till further orders.

80 RAS did not join after the transfer on 5 September
According to sources, they have been asked to join the new place immediately because on 5 September, the government had transferred 108 IAS and 386 RAS officers. But even after that, till 22 September, two IAS and 80 RAS had not joined their new posts. It is being told that these officers were avoiding taking charge because they did not get the desired post.

Many government works were getting affected due to the officers not joining even after 15 days of transfer. Perhaps this is the reason why the government has ordered the officers to immediately join their transferred places.

Many junior officers were given command of large districts

The main reason behind not taking charge was also being told that many junior officers have been given the command of big districts, while many senior officers are already collectors of small districts. Among these officers, IAS Mukul Sharma, Shubham Chaudhary, Alpa Chaudhary, Artika Shukla Manju were made collectors in big districts, while senior officers like Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, Shakti Singh Rathore, Harimohan Meena were given the command of small districts.
