Triangular contest on the seats of Southern Rajasthan, Chaurasi becomes a challenge for BJP

Jaipur : Rajasthan: Election campaign for assembly by-elections on 7 seats has intensified. Voting will be held for by-elections in the state on 13 November. Before voting, Congress, BJP and other parties intensified their election campaign. Minister Babulal Kharadi has taken charge of BJP’s election campaign on the seats of Southern Rajasthan. Babulal Kharadi is hopeful of winning the by-elections in Southern Rajasthan due to the work of the BJP government. However, it is not so easy for BJP. The contest on Chaurasi and Salumbar seats is triangular.

Rajkumar became MLA from Chaurasi twice

Actually, after Rajkumar Rot became MP in the Lok Sabha elections, eighty-four seats have become vacant. This is considered a tribal dominated seat. Rajkumar Roat became MLA from BAP in the 2023 assembly elections. Rajkumar Roat had defeated BJP’s Sushil Katara by more than 50 thousand votes in the assembly elections held last year. Earlier in the 2018 assembly elections also, Rajkumar Rot had won on BTP ticket. At that time also Rajkumar had defeated BJP’s Sushil Katara.

BAP bets on young faces

Now in the by-elections, BAP has played a new trick by fielding a young candidate. At the same time, Congress is contesting Mahesh Rot, while BJP has made the contest triangular by giving ticket to experienced face Karilal Nanoma. After Rajkumar Rot became MP, BAP has fielded Anil Katara from Chaurasi-four in the by-election. Rajkumar Rot has a strong hold on the eighty-fourth seat, an example of which is that he became MLA from this seat twice in a row. In such a situation, BJP is expected to face a big challenge on eighty-four seats.

Interesting contest on Salumber seat

At the same time, there is a triangular contest in the by-election on Salumber seat, which is considered the stronghold of BJP. On this seat, BJP has fielded Shanta Devi, wife of late MLA Amritlal Meena. While Reshma Meena is contesting the elections from Congress. Apart from Chaurasi, Bharat Adivasi Party has made the contest interesting by fielding its candidate from Salumber seat. Jitesh Katara is contesting from Salumber seat on BAP ticket.
