Kupwara : Security forces in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir killed two militants who were part of a group trying to infiltrate from across the Line of Control (LoC) into the Indian side.
According to reports, on Thursday morning, Army personnel deployed along the LoC in the Tangdhar sector noticed a group of militants attempting to cross into Indian territory. The Army challenged them and warned them to return.
However, the militants ignored the warning and continued to advance towards the Indian border. The Army then opened fire. Two militants were killed in the ensuing gunfight. The rest escaped. The Army is conducting a search operation in the entire area.
