Udaipur: Forest department is yet to trace the leopard that killed the woman

Udaipur : The leopard that killed the woman in Kirat forest section near National Highway-58E in Jhadol, Udaipur, could not be traced till the third day on Tuesday. The rescue team of the forest department is continuously monitoring the area around the forest. The location of the leopard is being ascertained with the help of drones. However, there is a problem due to low visibility in the forest. Cages have also been installed at possible places. The leopard is difficult to see due to long grass on the hill. The forest department team is monitoring the forest by sitting on the top of the hill. Along with this, 7 trap cameras have been installed to see the movement. Here, there is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers. Let us tell you, in the last three months, the leopard has killed 3 people including a woman and a child in this area.

The woman who went to cut wood was made a victim

The incident happened three days ago on Sunday when woman Ramli Bai wife of Harjilal Ahari resident of Magwas went to Kirat forest to cut wood. There a leopard hidden in the bushes made her its prey. On receiving the information the forest department and Jhardol police station reached. When they tried to search for the woman in the forest, the body of the woman was found lying in the bushes at one place. In which the torso and head were lying separately. After the incident, angry villagers blocked the national highway. The villagers were adamant on the demand of job and compensation for a member of the family. The matter was settled after 5 hours of persuasion and assurance.
