Udaipur : Police have arrested two accused in the case of demanding money for liquor and assaulting a bike-riding youth in Banjariya of Kherwada town in Udaipur. The police took out a foot procession of the accused in Kherwada town. During this time the accused were saying that they will not commit crimes anymore. A crowd of people gathered nearby to see the accused.
Police Officer Dilip Singh said- Accused Ashish son of Chunnilal Damor resident of Banjaria and Ramlal son of Laxman Damor have been arrested. On the night of 14th November, armed miscreants stopped and beat up a youth riding a bike on Banjariya Bridge, the video of which was made viral by someone and made viral on social media. On this, Kherwada police looked at the numbers of the victim’s bike on the basis of CCTV footage installed around the incident site and called the victim to Kherwada police station. After taking the report from the victim, they started searching for the accused on the basis of CCTV footage. Both the accused were arrested.
Asked for money to drink alcohol, if not given then assaulted
The applicant Gautam Lal, son of Mogaji Meghwal, resident of Randela, Salumber had given the report in the police station. In which it was told that on November 14, he was going from Rundela village to Ahmedabad on a bike with his uncle’s son Shankar. Near Banjariya Bridge of Kherwara, 4 to 5 armed miscreants came in the way of the bike and asked for money for drinking alcohol. The miscreants beat up the youth for not paying the money. Due to going to Ahmedabad, the bike riding applicant and his cousin went to Ahmedabad without filing report in the police station. On receiving police information, the applicant reached Kherwada police station and lodged a report.
