Water crisis in Jaisalmer urban and rural areas, tankers are being called for.

Jaisalmer News Desk: These days, there is an outcry for water in Jaisalmer district not only in the city but also in the rural areas. While there has been a water problem in the city for the last 10 days, even in the rural areas, drinking water is not available these days. Due to the negligence of the electricity department, due to voltage problem, the supply of canal water coming from Mohangarh is disrupted these days. Without water, there is an outcry for water among the people of the city and rural areas. People are buying drinking water at expensive prices. The worst conditions are faced by cattle herders in the villages. The animals are wandering due to lack of drinking water.

In rural areas, there is no water in Dungar ki Dhani, Nimbri Dhani in Dhoba Gram Panchayat, Maneri Dhani in Gram Panchayat Khuhdi, Mag Singh Ka Tala and in the residence of Meghwals of Gram Panchayat Khuhdi. In some places, water supply is not available for the last 3 months and in some places for the last 15 days. Due to which the condition of humans as well as animals is bad. Amar Singh Sodha, a villager of Khuhdi Gram Panchayat, said – If we have to wander for water in winter, then what will happen to us in summer. No hearing is taking place anywhere. The villagers are very worried.

Water tanker costs from 600 to 3 thousand rupees

Amar Singh told that the department went after half digging the tube well in Dungar Dhani. Water is not available since last 1 year. In such a situation, a water tanker is being ordered from Khuhadi village, a settlement of 7 thousand animals and 50 houses, for Rs 2100. The condition of poor cattle herders is very bad. GLR has been built in Dhoba village. But water is not coming since last 2 months. The settlement of 10 thousand animals and 300 houses is thirsty. GLR is made in lemon reservoir. But there is no water coming in it for the last 10 days. There is a settlement of 100 houses in Neem Ri Dhani and about 5 thousand animals.

GLR has been constructed in Maneri village but there is no water since a month. A settlement of 50 houses and eight thousand animals remain thirsty. GLR has been built in Mag Singh Ka Tala village but is broken. In that too, due to lack of water for 20 days, a colony of 35 houses and 6 thousand animals are thirsty. Talking about the same, there are 3 thousand animals in the settlement of 200 houses inhabited by Meghwals of Gram Panchayat Khuhdi. But even there people are facing problems due to lack of drinking water. In all these villages, villagers are quenching the thirst of themselves and their animals by ordering expensive water tankers ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 3000 thousand.
