Jaipur : Jaipur The Goods and Services Tax (GST) will complete seven years on Monday since its implementation. The state government is now getting more than two and a half times the revenue every month from GST as compared to July 2017, but despite the ban on double taxation, the common man is not feeling any reduction in prices. GST tribunal is awaited for hearing the tax disputes, and the state government has not made any arrangement to help the small shopkeepers. GST, which came with the idea of one nation-one tax, has made many changes in the tax system, entertainment tax has been abolished. On the contrary, the demand to bring down the prices of petroleum products by bringing them under the ambit of GST is not being met, so the tax evaders have devised new methods.
The doors to corruption have not been closed
The intention to strengthen the tax system was expressed through GST, but due to issuance of unnecessary notices, businessmen are still forced to settle the matter through bargaining.
There is also a scam regarding ITC
Bills of other states are being used to get the benefit of ITC, but the state government is not taking the cooperation of the Accountant General (AG)’s office in this. Bogus firms operating in the country can be caught with the help of the AG office. Loss due to E-way bill too Tax evasion is taking place through E-way bill as well. With one E-way bill, a single truck is delivering the goods by making three rounds.
If tax evasion stops, the government treasury will fill up more
If sources are to be believed, tax evasion is still happening the most in gutkha, timber and dry fruit business, similarly textile merchants and automobile mechanics and parts sellers are also causing loss to the government treasury by not paying bills.
This is how the state’s GST connection is increasing
Bring them also under the ambit of GST
-By bringing petrol and diesel under a purview, a single price can be brought across the country. This can also control their inflation.
– If the vehicle registration rate is uniform across the country, people will not buy vehicles from outside. This will also increase the state’s revenue.
VAT may be reduced on petrol and diesel
This time the biggest expectation in the budget is that VAT on petrol and diesel will be reduced. It is believed that the Bhajanlal government can make an important announcement by reducing the rate of VAT on petrol and diesel. Because in the last interim budget, no change was made in the prices of petrol and diesel.
