
Lucknow, May 12: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued comprehensive directives aimed at promoting self-reliance and strict austerity measures. He urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to support Prime Minister Modi’s national call for resource conservation.
During a high-level meeting with top administrative and police officials in Lucknow, the Chief Minister announced an immediate 50% reduction in the vehicle fleets of himself, state ministers, and other dignitaries, while ordering the removal of all non-essential vehicles from official convoys.
This appeal is not limited to the government; it also calls upon state residents to reduce fuel consumption and avoid unnecessary purchases of gold. Highlighting the instability in global affairs, he emphasized the need for collective caution and financial discipline in the current situation.
As an example, he suggested that all public representatives, including Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly, should use public transport at least once a week.
To modernize administrative operations, the Chief Minister instructed prioritizing a work-from-home culture. Industrial establishments and large startups have been encouraged to adopt a two-day work-from-home arrangement each week.
Additionally, at least 50% of government meetings, seminars, and workshops held in state secretariats and directorates should now be conducted online.
To reduce energy costs, the state government’s focus is shifting towards natural gas (PNG), metro rail services, and electric vehicles.
The Chief Minister also launched the ‘Visit My State’ campaign to promote domestic tourism and destination weddings in Uttar Pradesh, leveraging the state’s rich heritage and eco-friendly tourist spots.
