‘Your relations with terrorist organizations…’ Woman software engineer kept under digital arrest for three hours, attempt to cheat

Alwar : A case of cyber thugs keeping an engineer resident of Manu Marg of Alwar city under digital arrest for 3 hours has come to light. The accused asked the woman to lock herself in the room and restricted her from talking to anyone. The accused told the woman that she was connected with terrorist organizations. Threatened to get funding from them and implicate them in money laundering case. The victim was put under digital arrest by threatening her by taking names of big institutions like ED, CBI. After that, the scared woman joined in their conversation and also trapped the woman’s husband, who had suddenly come home, by threatening them. When the woman became nervous and ill during the digital arrest, the woman’s husband disconnected the phone and informed the family and the cyber police station.

The victim woman is a software engineer

Manumarg resident Falit Gupta is a businessman and his wife Arshi is a software engineer in a big multinational company in Gurugram. Arshi got a call around 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The caller, claiming to be an RBI official, lured him into his talks and slowly started extracting information from him. He took Arshi’s Aadhar card number. Asked about his job and salary. Also took information about the family.

Woman’s husband also implicated

During this time, the person calling asked to close the gate of the room and ordered not to inform anyone about this. According to him, Arshi kept following his orders and was completely trapped in his words. The thugs, posing as Hyderabad Police officers, CBI officers and ED officers, made Arshi talk to different people on phone and then asked Arshi to testify over video call. An arrest warrant was sent to the woman and other documents were also sent on social media.

Threat of being implicated in money laundering case

Meanwhile, her husband, who reached there, was also trapped by the accused in their words and kept under digital arrest for an hour. During this, the accused started giving various threats over video call, including getting funding from terrorist organizations, working for terrorist organizations, getting implicated in money laundering case. Arshi started feeling unwell and started crying. She was shocked after hearing the words of the thugs. Seeing this her husband immediately disconnected the phone.
