Kanpur : An FIR has been lodged against the super selector and super agent of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) for cheating a cricketer by taking money from him. This is not the first FIR lodged against the super agent. The UPCA general manager had also lodged an FIR against him, which is still under investigation.

An FIR has been registered against super selector Akram Saifi and his agents Anurag Mishra and his real brother Anubhav Mishra under sections 420, 406 and 506 at Unnao Kotwali and instructions have been issued to start investigation against them.

It is worth mentioning that many agents are working actively across the state to get cricketers selected in UPCA. The FIR lodged with the police states that Satya Prakash Yadav, an emerging cricketer playing cricket in Kanpur, has been camping in the state under-14, 16, 19 and 23. He had been performing consistently well to get into the team but was not getting the opportunity to join the main team due to non-payment of bribe. During this time, he met Anurag Mishra, a resident of Unnao.

Anurag told Satya Prakash that he would get him in touch with Akram Saifi, the personal assistant of BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla, to get him selected in the team. Akram Saifi calls himself a super selector. Anurag Mishra took the cricketer into confidence and arranged a meeting with Akram Saifi. Akram Saifi told the cricketer to do as Anurag says, he will get you to play. After that, Anurag Mishra asked for 10 lakh rupees from Satya Prakash, so he first gave 8 lakh rupees in cash to Anurag Mishra, after that he transferred 1,50,000 rupees online from his uncle’s account. Some money was also sent online later. Even after this, he was not included in the team. Not only this, Anurag also stopped meeting Satya Prakash. No UPCA official is ready to listen to talk about this matter.

According to Satya Prakash’s uncle Upendra, Anurag was given money in cash and online, but he is only interested in making money by keeping his nephew in the dark. On this serious matter, a UPCA official said that a complaint has been registered against Anurag earlier as well, its official inquiry will also be conducted. Kotwali Inspector Pramod Mishra confirmed the FIR lodged in the case on Wednesday and said that he will investigate and take further legal action.
