22.22 kg opium kept hidden in Barmer cattle shed, accused arrested

Barmer : Sadar Police of Barmer district has arrested an accused while taking action against illegal drugs. 22 kg 225 grams of poppy seeds have been seized from his possession. At present the police is interrogating the accused regarding the purchase and sale of drugs.

According to the police, information was received that a consignment of drugs could be found in Ranigaon village. On this, SI Rajuram Kalamay police force raided the house of Khetaram, resident of village Ranigaon. During the search, 22 kg 225 grams of poppy seeds were found hidden in the animal fodder room near the house. When the house owner was asked about this, no one could give a satisfactory answer. On this, the police seized the poppy seeds and detained Khetaram and brought him to the police station.

SP Narendra Singh Meena said – A case was registered under the NDPS Act against the accused Khetaram, son of Hamiraram, resident of Ranigaon. The accused is being interrogated about where he brought the poppy seeds from and to whom he was going to supply it. Head constable Durgasih, Peeraram, constable Bharat Kumar, Shravan Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Arbab, lady constable KC, driver constable Mohammad were involved in the action.
