New Delhi, February 6: The festival of Yashoda Jayanti, celebrated on the sixth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun according to the Hindu calendar, is marked with great enthusiasm. This day honors Mother Yashoda, the mother of Lord Krishna, with special prayers and rituals dedicated to her and the child form of Krishna.
This occasion holds significant importance for those wishing for the joy of children. It is believed that observing fasts and performing rituals on Yashoda Jayanti enhances the chances of having children, promotes their prosperity, and fosters family happiness and peace.
On this day, special worship is conducted not only for Yashoda but also for her beloved son Krishna. Offerings of milk, yogurt, butter, sugar, and fruits are made during the prayers. Devotional songs and hymns are sung, followed by the distribution of prasad.
According to the Drik Panchang, the sixth day of Krishna Paksha will commence at 2:54 AM on February 7 and continue until February 8. The Chitra Nakshatra will be present on Saturday, lasting until 2:28 AM on February 8. The moon will transit through the Virgo zodiac sign, with sunrise at 7:06 AM and sunset at 6:05 PM.
In terms of auspicious timings, the Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Ravi Yoga will be in effect from 2:28 AM to 7:05 AM on Saturday, providing an excellent time for worship. The Amrit Kaal, considered particularly fruitful for any auspicious activity, will occur from 7:31 PM to 9:15 PM. Other favorable timings include Abhijit Muhurat from 12:13 PM to 12:57 PM, Vijay Muhurat from 2:25 PM to 3:09 PM, and the Ghodhuli Muhurat from 6:03 PM to 6:29 PM.
Conversely, it is advised to avoid starting any new or auspicious work during inauspicious periods, which include Rahukal from 9:51 AM to 11:13 AM, Yamgand from 1:58 PM to 3:20 PM, and Gulika Kaal from 7:06 AM to 8:28 AM.
