Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Nitish Kumars Move to Rajya Sabha

Lucknow, March 6: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has expressed disappointment over Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to join the Rajya Sabha, stating that he had hoped Kumar would become Prime Minister instead. Speaking at an iftar party in Lucknow, Yadav remarked that those familiar with politics understand the intentions of the Bharatiya Janata Party from the very beginning. He emphasized that while many wished for Kumar to ascend to the Prime Minister’s position, he will now retire as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Yadav also commented on the resignation of West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose, suggesting that more resignations are likely to follow after the elections in Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

During the iftar party, Yadav expressed gratitude to the organizers for providing an opportunity to celebrate the breaking of the fast together, highlighting the essence of Indian culture where people participate in each other’s festivals. He referred to this unity as ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb,’ where diverse thoughts, religions, and communities coexist peacefully.

On the issue concerning Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand, Yadav appealed to the public, warning that if such treatment can happen to the Shankaracharya today, it could happen to anyone tomorrow. He criticized the government for instilling fear and disrespecting individuals, emphasizing the pain caused by false accusations against the Shankaracharya.

In response to a question, Yadav reiterated that the Samajwadi Party does not support war, highlighting the destruction and sorrow it brings. He stated that the party has never endorsed warfare, as its consequences are always tragic.
