Patna, March 16: Sanjay Sarawagi, the president of Bihar BJP, made a significant claim regarding the Rajya Sabha elections on Monday. He stated that the NDA is assured of winning all five seats in the current elections. Sarawagi expressed doubts about the RJD’s trust in its own legislators, questioning their whereabouts and asserting that there are no restrictions on NDA legislators.
He emphasized that there is complete faith in their legislators and addressed the issue of cross-voting, mentioning that many legislators wish to work in their constituencies and are influenced by NDA policies. The true sentiments of these legislators will be revealed during the voting process.
Voting for the Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar is scheduled for Monday. In preparation, a meeting was held at the residence of Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Sunday, attended by all NDA legislators and council members. A mock voting session was organized to familiarize the legislators with the voting process for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Minister Sanjay Paswan remarked that learning the mock voting process is essential, as many are unfamiliar with how to cast their votes. He noted that since voting has not taken place since 2014, it is crucial to understand the voting procedure. JD(U) legislator Vinay Chaudhary added that today they would be informed about how to vote, expressing confidence that they would win all five seats.
Elections for 37 Rajya Sabha seats across ten states are taking place today, with voting scheduled from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and counting of votes to begin at 5:00 PM. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has prepared a detailed program to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
