
New Delhi, April 2: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjirapu expressed his delight on the 31st anniversary of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). He praised AAI’s achievements and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Udaan’ vision as a foundation for air connectivity in remote areas of the country.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Naidu stated, “I am very happy to participate in the 31st annual celebration of the Airports Authority of India. AAI acts as the backbone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Udaan’ vision, making air travel accessible to the common people across the vast and diverse regions of the country.”
The minister noted that Indian airports have become symbols of world-class infrastructure and innovation, while also showcasing deep imprints of Indian heritage and culture. He referred to this as a powerful example of the mantra ‘Development and Heritage’.
Naidu commended AAI’s passenger-centric initiatives, including the ‘Udaan Passenger Café’, ‘Flybrary’, free Wi-Fi, and special zones for children. These initiatives have significantly enhanced and modernized the air travel experience across the nation.
He extended heartfelt congratulations to all AAI employees and their families, stating, “The employees of AAI have demonstrated the vision of becoming a world-class airport developer and operator.”
It is noteworthy that on Wednesday, the Airports Authority of India is celebrating its 31st anniversary. AAI operates over 100 airports across the country and plays a crucial role in connecting small towns and remote areas to the air network under the ‘Udaan’ scheme.
The Union Minister wished AAI success as it moves towards its ‘Golden Jubilee’, emphasizing that the organization is continuously focusing on innovation and passenger facilities to contribute to making India a leading aviation hub in the world.
