New Delhi, April 3: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Raghav Chadha, stating that the party frequently makes such decisions and that this is not a significant change. He noted that Chadha has held his responsibilities for four years, and it is time to give someone else a chance.
Gupta mentioned that the party leadership has decided on this change, emphasizing that AAP operates collaboratively. He added that such changes are common within the party. Gupta affirmed that every MP in the party has the freedom to express their views on any issue, highlighting that Chadha has been vocal in Parliament.
Regarding Chadha’s social media posts, Gupta stated he is unaware of them. He pointed out that there are other members in the Rajya Sabha who also speak, and a change in the deputy leader’s responsibilities does not imply that anyone has been silenced. He noted that during Zero Hour, any member can speak without needing permission, and Chadha often addresses the house two to three times a week.
On Anurag Dhanda’s comments regarding the Chadha controversy, Gupta stressed the need to focus more on national issues.
In response to Congress leader Kamal Nath’s statements about LPG, Gupta remarked that it is incorrect to claim there are no issues facing the country. He mentioned that the government has formed a committee for monitoring, and rising prices are not solely the government’s fault, attributing them to global crises and a downturn in manufacturing.
Gupta highlighted that nearly 67 percent of graduate youth are unemployed, indicating that two out of three individuals are without jobs, exacerbated by the crisis in West Asia leading to inflation.
