Alia Bhatts Journey from 400 Auditions to Stardom

Mumbai, March 14: Alia Bhatt, a prominent star kid in Bollywood, faced significant challenges while auditioning for her debut film, “Student of the Year.” Reports indicate that she stood in line with 400 other girls for the audition. Today, through hard work and passion, she is recognized as one of the industry’s top actresses.

Alia’s journey began with immense dedication. Despite being a star kid, she secured her role in “Student of the Year” solely based on her audition. Filmmaker Karan Johar revealed in an interview that nearly 400 girls were screened for Alia’s character in the film. In such fierce competition, Alia stood out with her unique style.

Karan noted that he immediately saw the ‘X factor’ in Alia, which he believed was perfect for the film. He also advised her to lose some weight, and within three months, Alia transformed herself, appearing slim and trim for her debut, which turned out to be a massive success at the box office.

In an old audition video, Alia can be seen delivering dialogues from “Wake Up Sid.” Karan mentioned that his friend Niranjan Iyengar suggested Alia, the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, for the upcoming film. After her test, he was instantly impressed, stating, “We saw 400 girls, but Alia was different. I just told her to lose some weight. She worked hard and got ready.”

This dedication launched Alia’s career, and she never looked back after “Student of the Year.” She has since starred in successful films like “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania,” “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” “Kapoor & Sons,” “Highway,” “Udta Punjab,” “Raazi,” “Gully Boy,” “Kalank,” “Sadak 2,” “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” “Darlings,” “Brahmastra,” and “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.” She has also received National Awards for her performances in “Raazi” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi.”

Alia has astonished audiences with her acting in comedy, drama, action, and emotional roles. Today, she is one of Bollywood‘s most successful and versatile actresses. She has also launched her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, producing films like “Darlings.”

Alia, the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, is married to actor Ranbir Kapoor, and they have a daughter named Raha.
