
Itanagar witnessed a vibrant celebration of Uttar Pradesh Day at the Arunachal Pradesh Lok Bhavan on Saturday, bringing together the Uttar Pradesh community residing in the state. The event reflected the spirit of ‘Ek India, Shreshtha Bharat’ with great clarity.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Lieutenant General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.) emphasised that such events play a crucial role in strengthening National Unity, mutual brotherhood, and the integrity of the country, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Governor appreciated the active participation of the Uttar Pradesh community and highlighted the state’s remarkable progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He noted that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a key hub for information technology and holds a distinguished identity as a land of spirituality. The state remains a favourite destination for pilgrims and tourists, symbolising India’s progress deeply rooted in tradition.
Extending his greetings on Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day, Governor Parnaik specially congratulated the people from Uttar Pradesh engaged in various professions and businesses in Arunachal Pradesh. He also expressed gratitude for their contributions to the development, progress, and social fabric of Arunachal Pradesh.
Shedding light on the rich heritage of Uttar Pradesh, the Governor remarked that through its cultural legacy, artistic traditions, and revolutionary zeal, the state played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle.
Lieutenant General Parnaik (Retd.) observed that such shared platforms bring people closer and deepen mutual understanding. These events reinforce the notion that despite diverse cultures and traditions, India stands united as one family. The celebration symbolised the beautiful confluence of cultures and vividly represented India’s ‘Unity in Diversity’.
The cultural performances added a special charm to the occasion. Members of the Uttar Pradesh community presented traditional dances, while children from Arunachal mesmerised the audience with captivating performances of Uttar Pradesh folk dances. This exchange of culture stood as a symbol of mutual respect and harmony.
