Baloch Armed Group Accused: Two Suspects Linked to ISI Shot Dead

Quetta, March 11: In a shooting incident on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) highway in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan, two individuals linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), have been killed. The Baloch armed group has been accused of this attack, as reported by local media on Tuesday.

According to The Balochistan Post, on Monday, fighters in the Khuzdar district checked vehicles passing through a checkpoint. During this operation, two suspects associated with the ISI were apprehended. When they attempted to flee, they were shot, and one individual was taken into custody. Subsequently, the Pakistani army reportedly moved into the area, leading to significant clashes.

Reports indicate that no group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

This event occurred just days after the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) entered Khuzdar city on March 4, destroying government property and police stations.

In a separate incident, The Balochistan Post reported that an explosive attack targeted a convoy of the Frontier Corps (FC) in the Tezban area of the Kech district. The explosion caused considerable damage to the vehicle and left two individuals injured.

Additionally, armed assailants reportedly attacked two Pakistani military checkpoints in the Khan and Shepcher areas of Kech, seizing weapons and other items before setting the checkpoints on fire.

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) also stated that they carried out two attacks against the Pakistani army in Quetta and Nasirabad districts on March 8 and 9. In a statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch mentioned that the group threw a hand grenade at a police patrol in Quetta.

Later, they attacked a force checkpoint in the Mir Hasan area of Nasirabad using small arms and grenade launchers, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani security personnel and injuring another.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for two attacks on a Pakistani military camp and a security force checkpoint in Kech on March 7 and 8, asserting that significant damage was inflicted on enemy infrastructure.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahran Baloch claimed that fighters launched multiple grenade attacks on the main gate of the Turbat airport, targeting the Joint Frontier Corps and Airport Security Force checkpoint. He stated, “As a result of this attack, several enemy personnel were killed, and their equipment suffered heavy damage.” He also mentioned that on March 7, BLF fighters attacked a Pakistani military camp in the Hironk area with heavy and automatic weapons, allegedly inflicting severe losses on the ‘enemies.’

Both groups have described their attacks against Pakistani forces as part of an ongoing armed struggle against “occupying forces” in Balochistan.
