Patna, February 5: In the wake of the tragic death of a NEET student in Patna, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi has accused the government of trying to cover up the incident, claiming that the Investigation has now been handed over to the CBI. She alleged that a minister or a minister’s son may be involved, which she believes is why the government is attempting to shield those responsible.
In response to these allegations, Bihar government minister Ramkripal Yadav asserted that there is no attempt to conceal the facts surrounding the student’s death. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring justice for the victim and her family, stating, “The truth will prevail, and action is being taken at every level.”
Yadav also condemned recent remarks made by Tamil Nadu minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam regarding people from North India, calling them unfortunate and inappropriate for someone in a constitutional position. He urged the Chief Minister to demand an apology from Panneerselvam and called for his removal from office.
Minister Dilip Jaiswal defended the integrity of the investigation, stating that Bihar is governed by the rule of law. He criticized Rabri Devi’s comments about a cover-up, asserting that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the upcoming CBI inquiry are thorough and that any attempt to influence the investigation is unwarranted. He assured that no criminal would escape justice.
Jaiswal also took a jab at Tejashwi Yadav, claiming he is out of touch with reality, pointing out the development in Patna and Darbhanga, including the construction of five new medical colleges and improvements in road conditions. He dismissed the Tamil Nadu minister’s comments as foolishness, suggesting that such language indicates a loss of mental balance among leaders who use it.
