Agartala, February 9: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Sunday that peace and inclusive development in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) can only be achieved under the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He emphasized that the state government is continuously working towards the socio-economic development of every citizen.
Addressing an organizational meeting of the BJP at the TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng, CM Saha noted the increasing competition among political parties to retain or regain power in the state. He underscored the necessity of a strong BJP-led government in the upcoming elections for the tribal autonomous council, with crucial elections for the 30-member TTAADC expected to take place in March-April.
Saha expressed encouragement at the active participation of mothers and sisters in the meeting, stating, “The assembly clearly indicates what the future of TTAADC will look like under BJP leadership.”
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing a change in the political culture of the country by emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance. Referring to PM Modi‘s commitment to corruption-free governance, CM Saha highlighted the positive and development-oriented environment created under the BJP and NDA rule across the country and in Tripura.
Criticizing previous governments, the Chief Minister accused them of misleading the people and allowing militancy to thrive, which resulted in stunted development in many areas. “Development is not possible without peace. The BJP has helped restore peace and stability by bringing misguided elements into the mainstream. Since coming to power, our government has prioritized development,” he stated.
Saha remarked that contradictory claims regarding government formation reflect political confusion. He mentioned that illegal encroachments in urban areas have been removed in the public interest, and despite attempts by certain groups to mislead the public, the government is considering rehabilitation measures for those affected.
Issuing a stern warning, the Chief Minister noted that several illegal activities are ongoing in the TTAADC without legal approval. He pointed out irregularities in the formation of village committees and the political misinformation surrounding the proposed Bishramganj municipal council, stating that these activities have already been exposed.
Saha concluded, “Negative politics will not benefit the public. The BJP is committed to prioritizing development in TTAADC while ensuring transparency, law and order, and peace. We must resolve to establish a BJP-led government in TTAADC.”
