Remarkable Opening Weekend
Border 2, the highly anticipated war drama featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, has taken the Box Office by storm. The film achieved a remarkable feat by crossing the ₹100 crore mark within its first three days of release. It garnered substantial audience attention, showcasing a steady increase in its earnings over the weekend.
Box Office Performance
According to Sacnilk, Border 2 made ₹54.50 crore on its first Sunday, marking a significant 49% increase compared to its opening day earnings of ₹30 crore. Saturday saw an impressive surge, bringing in ₹36.5 crore. With a total collection now reaching ₹121 crore, expectations remain high for continued success, especially with Republic Day approaching.
A Captivating Sequel
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 serves as a sequel to the classic 1997 film Border, originally helmed by J.P. Dutta. The film is inspired by the real events surrounding the 1971 India-Pakistan war and has received positive reviews since its release, particularly praising Sunny Deol’s performance. Despite facing pre-release trolling for a song video, Varun Dhawan’s producers have defended him against critics, labeling them as “anti-national” in the context of promoting the film.
