Chunky Panday Celebrates 39 Years in Bollywood

Mumbai, April 3: Actor Chunky Panday, known for his humorous persona, is celebrating 39 years since his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Aag Hi Aag.’ Released in 1987, this multi-starrer film marked the beginning of his illustrious career in the Indian film industry.

On this special occasion, Chunky took to Instagram Stories to reminisce about his debut, sharing a scene from the film and stating, “I took my first step into the world of acting with ‘Aag Hi Aag.’ Today marks 39 years since its release.”

‘Aag Hi Aag’ was a blockbuster action-drama directed by Shibu Mitra, featuring prominent actors such as Dharmendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Neelam, Moushumi Chatterjee, and Danny Denzongpa. The film revolves around a soldier’s battle against a corrupt system and explores the father-son relationship.

The story follows the character Bahadur Singh (played by Dharmendra), who, after the tragic rape and murder of his sister, becomes disillusioned with the corrupt police and turns to a life of crime, adopting the name Sher Singh. The narrative takes a twist when his son Vijay confronts his father’s past.

The film’s music, composed by Bappi Lahiri, featured hit songs like ‘Har Koi Chahta Hai’ and ‘Aasman Tu Meri Zindagi Hai.’ It was one of the biggest hits of 1987, establishing Chunky Panday as a notable figure in Bollywood, thanks to its memorable dialogues and action sequences.
