CM Dhami Emphasizes Collective Responsibility for Environmental Protection

Nainital, June 5: On World Environment Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the citizens of the country, stating that the protection and conservation of the environment is a collective responsibility. He emphasized the need to provide a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

During a media interaction, CM Dhami said, “First of all, I congratulate everyone on World Environment Day. Protecting and conserving the environment is our collective responsibility. Uttarakhand is the land of the Himalayas. The Himalayas, Ganga, Yamuna, and many other rivers provide water and life to people. More than 71 percent of our state is surrounded by forests. It is our duty to ensure clean air and water for the people. Most importantly, we must give our children a safe and healthy environment.”

Regarding the upcoming elections, CM Dhami mentioned that his government’s primary focus is on public service and the development of the state. He stated, “Elections come and go, but our responsibility is to serve the people of Uttarakhand. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are working to make Uttarakhand the best state in the country. This is our main goal, and we are working towards it every moment. The people of Uttarakhand have always blessed us.”

He also addressed the development of infrastructure around the Kainchi Dham, saying, “This is a significant challenge for us, and we are trying to create a bypass for it. The bypass project will begin soon. The work on the Bhimtal bypass has already started, and we are continuously working on it.”

He noted that a large number of devotees visit Kainchi Dham, and the faith people have in it is profound. Additionally, tourists visiting Ranikhet and other places, along with hotel owners, shopkeepers, traders, taxi drivers, and others associated with tourism, are also affected. “We are taking this matter very seriously. The process is ongoing, and the government has already taken steps. Development is underway for all our major religious sites, including Kainchi Dham, Kedarkhand, Mansaskhand, Char Dham circuit, and Adi Kailash.”

In response to opposition leader Rahul Gandhi‘s statements regarding Uttarakhand, CM Dhami remarked that there is no need to take Gandhi’s words seriously, as he is not regarded seriously in the country. “He may not even know what he says or does. There was a time when he entered politics, and his party repeatedly launched and relaunched him. Many years have passed since then, but he still has not established himself.”
