Patna, June 7: The political atmosphere in Bihar has heated up following the reduction of security for former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav. RJD workers have begun protests outside Rabri Devi’s residence in opposition to this decision, leading to intensified political rhetoric.
RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha has sharply criticized the government’s decision, calling it unfortunate that leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav are facing such security measures. He emphasized that security should never be used as a tool for political revenge or pressure, warning that using security arrangements as a political weapon could have detrimental effects on democracy.
Jha also pointed out that many individuals in Bihar, who do not genuinely require security, are surrounded by heavy security details. He sarcastically noted that some people remain engrossed in the pleasures of power, while the public is now taking security into their own hands, leading to leaders returning their government security.
Additionally, he commented on GDP growth and economic conditions, stating that mere statistics cannot change the reality. According to him, the reports regarding the country’s economic situation are concerning, and while various claims about growth rates circulate, the truth is that the common people’s conditions are far from satisfactory.
Jha highlighted that the middle and lower classes are struggling with inflation and economic pressure, as daily necessities are becoming increasingly expensive, directly impacting many families’ budgets. He remarked that essential items are disappearing from people’s plates, indicating that the lives of ordinary citizens are being affected.
He further noted that global circumstances, such as the situations in West Asia and Iran, could further impact the Indian economy in the future. He urged the government to focus on the ground realities rather than just statistics.
