CM Mohan Yadav to Attend MP-UP Cooperation Conference in Varanasi

Bhopal, March 30: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will participate in the ‘Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Conference’ in Varanasi on Tuesday.

The conference aims to strengthen partnerships in trade, investment, and skills between the two neighboring states. Agreements will be signed in various sectors, including trade, industrial investment, skill development, handicraft promotion, and tourism, between the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The event will feature an exchange of innovations and best practices from Uttar Pradesh to enhance inter-state cooperation, promoting local economies and regional industries.

Special emphasis will be placed on connecting One District-One Product initiatives, GI-tagged products, traditional crafts, and agri-food products with branding, marketing, and export opportunities.

Ministers, senior officials, and policymakers from both states will participate, focusing on the implementation of the ODOP initiative and its future direction. The ODOP initiative identifies unique products from each district and links them to production, processing, value addition, branding, packaging, and market access.

Designed as a comprehensive value-chain model, it aims to provide sustainable economic opportunities for artisans, farmers, and small entrepreneurs, rather than merely preserving traditional products.

The Madhya Pradesh government stated on Monday that the event is expected to create new market opportunities for ODOP products, accelerate exports, and provide a significant platform for artisans and entrepreneurs. The cooperation and exchange of information between the two states will strengthen ODOP as a robust national economic model.

Madhya Pradesh will present this economic empowerment model for local producers and artisans at the conference, which has gained national recognition for its ODOP efforts, including a Silver Award at the ODOP Awards 2024.
