Devotees Flock to Jhandewalan Temple on Second Day of Chaitra Navratri

New Delhi, March 20: A large number of devotees visited the Jhandewalan Temple in New Delhi on the second day of Chaitra Navratri. The temple saw long queues forming as early as 4 AM for darshan and worship. Devotees come to seek blessings from Mata Rani and participate in the rituals.

The temple priest shared that the first day of Navratri was on Thursday, and today marks the second day dedicated to the worship of Maa Brahmacharini. The goddess has been adorned in her Brahmacharini form, and devotees have been lining up since the early hours for darshan.

He noted, “Maa Bhagwati performed severe penance to attain Lord Shiva, and it was during this time that she received his blessings. On the second day of Navratri, devotees begin their yoga practices associated with the Swadhisthana chakra. This day is highly auspicious for practitioners who worship the goddess to fulfill their desires.”

Trustee Ravinder Goyal extended heartfelt wishes to all devotees for Navratri and the Hindu New Year. He mentioned that all arrangements at the temple are running smoothly, with a significant number of devotees coming to seek the goddess’s blessings. Entry to the temple has been organized at three different points, and digital darshan facilities are also available. Devotees can book their timings through the temple’s website.

Goyal also informed that parking arrangements have been made at six locations outside the temple, each equipped with shoe stands. To ensure a comfortable experience for the visitors, carpeting has been laid out in the temple. The theme for this Chaitra Navratri is based on spring, and special attention is being given to cleanliness, with the entire premises being cleaned three times a day.

Regarding security, Goyal stated that over 300 CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the temple complex, along with a control room where Delhi Police officials and temple volunteers monitor the area. There are around 3,000 volunteers at Jhandewalan Temple, including more than 350 women volunteers.

A devotee visiting the temple on the second day of Chaitra Navratri expressed, “Coming here brings immense peace to my mind. All my stress disappears. I visit every time. Mata Rani has been very kind to us; she has left us with no lack.”
