Churu : Congress MP Rahul Kaswan and BJP MLA Harlal Saharan clashed with each other in the general meeting of Churu Zilla Parishad. There was a tension between the two public representatives over the matter of issuing challan for breaking the road due to farmers’ fountains. Due to this, the atmosphere in the auditorium got heated once, but District Collector Abhishek Surana and District Chief Vandana Arya present in the meeting intervened and calmed down the matter.
The issue of road breaking due to water from fountains was raised in the meeting.
A general body meeting was organized in the Churu Zilla Parishad auditorium on Friday afternoon. The issue raised in the meeting was that when the water from the fountains comes on the roads during irrigation by the farmers, the roads get damaged. On this, Churu MLA Harlal Saharan said that such an announcement should be made in the village that there will be no water on the roads. Such public information should be given. Farmers should be explained that water should not come on the roads and roads should not get damaged. If the farmers still do not agree, then the money should be recovered by challaning them. On this, MP Rahul Kaswan said – Why are you making asphalt roads here? Blocks or interlocks can be used where water comes. Farmers irrigate very small areas with sprinklers. Under no circumstances will the farmer be allowed to issue challan. Both the public representatives clashed with each other regarding this matter. Churu MLA Harlal Saharan said- Those who did corruption during Congress rule. Road, water and everything else was eaten up. The same people are speaking today.
Officials are not able to work on time regarding electricity and water.
MP Rahul Kaswan said- It came to light in the meeting that the officials are not able to work on time regarding electricity and water. Zilla Parishad members raise the issue of electricity and water every time, but their problems are not being solved. These things were discussed. The issue of Jal Jeevan Mission was discussed. In many places the work has not been completed yet. In the figures, these people are saying that connections have been given to 2 lakh houses, but in reality water has not reached those people till date. In the matter of electricity, connections were to be given in 6 thousand Dhanis, but till now even 500 connections have not been given.
Said to use block or interlock
On the matter of tension with the MLA, the MP said- We talk about the issues. There are meetings on issues. Public Works Department (PWD) builds roads in the village. Asphalt is used in those roads, whereas it is clearly written in the rules that blocks or interlocks can be used in it. Farmers irrigate very small areas with sprinklers. Then the MLA believed that farmers should be challaned where the road breaks due to the fountain. On this I said that the government should change its policy. The road should not be made of asphalt but of blocks and interlocks. The farmer’s challan will not be allowed to be issued under any circumstances.
