Elderly man drowns in Banas River, third incident in 3 days, search continues

Sawai Madhopur : Banas river has once again proved fatal in Sawai Madhopur district. 65-year-old Jaynarayan Kewat was swept away by the strong current while crossing the river in Chauth ka Barwara area. This incident happened on the Deoli-Didayach ghat where Kewat was bathing. This is the third accident in the Banas river in the last three days, which has increased the concern of the administration.

Foot slipped while taking bath

According to the information, Jayanarayan Kewat was taking bath on the Deoli-Didayach culvert, when suddenly his foot slipped and he was swept away in the strong water current. Immediately after the incident, the local people informed the administration and his search was started with the help of divers. As soon as the information was received, the administration and civil defense team also reached the spot. The search operation is going on in the Banas river but Kewat has not been found yet.

This is the third accident in Banas river in 3 days

The flow of water in the Banas river has been fast for the last 41 days. Recently the gates of Bisalpur dam have also been opened due to which the water level in the river has increased further. The administration is constantly appealing to the people to stay away from the river, but people are ignoring the warnings. It is worth noting that this is the third accident in the Banas river in the last three days. After the opening of the gates of Bisalpur dam, the administration had appealed to the people to stay away from the river by being cautious. Still people are putting their lives at risk by being careless. Despite the administration’s many efforts, people are going to the river banks to bathe, wash clothes and graze cattle, due to which there is a danger of accidents. This incident once again proves that carelessness towards natural disasters can prove to be costly. It is important to take the warnings issued by the administration seriously.
