
Chhapra: In a troubling incident from Bihar’s Saran district, an engineer was shot dead near Kachahari Railway Colony in the Nagar police station area. The police confirmed that the killing took place late Tuesday night, and a dispute over a drainage construction is suspected to be the motive.
According to police officials, the victim, identified as Vikas Kumar Tiwari, was returning home after a trip to Patna. He hailed from Shaktinagar locality under the Muzaffarpur police station jurisdiction. The assailants took advantage of the darkness and fired at him from close range, resulting in his immediate death at the spot.
Vikas Kumar Tiwari had completed his engineering education and was employed with a private company. Upon receiving information about the incident, police promptly reached the scene to begin their investigation. The victim’s family has been informed.
Nagar police station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar stated that initial inquiries suggest the killing stemmed from a personal dispute concerning a drainage project. A first information report (FIR) has been registered at the Nagar police station, naming one individual as the accused.
The police are actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspect and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage for evidence. To ensure thorough investigation and swift arrest of the culprits, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted. Authorities expressed confidence that the accused will be caught soon.
